Astertom
Application prototype for automation products supporting agricultural cultivation
Astertom is a Polish startup whose main task is to provide farms with automation supporting and monitoring agricultural crops.
The main value of the entire product is proprietary automation in the form of controllers and devices for various purposes for agriculture.
Behind the development of the appropriate technology was a group of young automation specialists, engineers, programmers and robotics.
The prototype of the application that I designed was designed to monitor and manage automation on the farm.
In the course of the workshops and information gathering, we came to the conclusion that the best solution at the first stage of the MVP would be an application for Smart TV and a simple web application for smartphones, which is to act as an auxiliary in warning against abnormal growing conditions and events.
The target group of customers are medium and large agricultural enterprises with a cultivated area of more than 50+ ha as well as smaller tunnel crops.
1. Design workshops. Defining the goals of the project / products, assumptions. Review of collected data about users and technology. Creation of a Business model canvas.
As it turned out, the team was well prepared because they already had a well-defined target group, its needs, problems and even personas.
2. Analysis of the data collected by the team.
3. Benchmarks of similar solutions and viewing reports on designing TV applications.
4. Creating a user flow / map for our prototype and consulting with the team.
5. UI design consistent with the client’s branding.
6. Creation of a prototype in Figma.
7. Verification of the prototype with a potentially interested target group of the client and simple interviews after the presentation of the prototype. Application analysis and fixes.
